BCTELA October 2019 Conference Call for Presenters!!

This will be an exciting day you won’t want to miss!! Our keynote is DAVID A. ROBERTSON, an award-winning Indigenous writer. His books include When We Were Alone (winner Governor General’s Literary Award), Will I See? (winner Manuela Dias Book Design and Illustration Award), The Evolution of Alice, Sugar Falls (YA graphic novel) and more!

Don’t Forget to Enter Student Work in the BCTELA Writing Contest!

Selected winners will have their writing published in Voices Visible and will receive a copy. It is an exciting way for B.C. learners to have an authentic experience with writing and being published!

The submission deadline is April 30, 2019.

You must be a BCTELA member to have your students entries qualify. You can join online through this website, or go to the BCTF website and choose BCTELA as a your PSA for only $35 for the year (payment is through BCTF).

The BC Teachers’ Federation (BCTF) is seeking 18 public school teachers willing to participate as BCTF representatives to the Ministry of Education’s Framework for Classroom Assessment Teams in the following areas: Science (Grades 10–12), English Language Arts (Grades 10–12), and ADST (Grades K–12).

Being a PSA member is one of the selection criteria that will be considered in the selection process for this posting.
