BCTELA’s annual conference brings together passionate educators who are committed to
teaching practices that respect, engage, and include all learners. This year’s sessions will
focus on topics that empower learners to take ownership of their learning, connect ELA to
the core competencies, consider gender identities; infuse aboriginal perspectives and
principles of learning; and explore exciting possibilities in ELA 10-12.

The keynote will explore how inquiry as cognitive
apprenticeship is THE model of instruction for developing
motivation, as well as developing deep conceptual and
procedural understanding that leads to transfer and application
of learning in the real world.
