Call for Proposals: Surrey’s Annual Teachers Convention

All workshop proposals need to be submitted by February 29, 2020.  Confirmations will be sent before March 13, 2020.

Surrey Teachers Annual Conference serves over 5000 teachers in a rich day of professional learning! Consider applying to present at this year’s conference on Friday May 1, 2020. There are 4 sites running sessions as well as a number of offsite excursions happening.

For teachers from outside of Surrey, the cost of 1 presenter Leave Of Absence will be covered.

Fee structure for presenters from outside agencies:

– an honorarium of $250 for a single session of one workshop,

– an honorarium of $350 for two sessions of the same workshop, or a 3 hour workshop

– an honorarium of $450 for two different workshops (one session each)

Start a Local Specialist Association

Become a local chapter of BCTELA.  LSAs are eligible for grants and other supports from BCTELA.  The growth and support of community in diverse school districts across the province are what fosters BCTELA’s rich professsional conversations.

The BCTELA Wiki 

The BCTELA wiki is a space where teachers can share resource, lesson and pedagogical ideas.  The quality and amount of the wiki content is dependent on our community’s participation, so go and check it out!
